India has reached a significant milestone, officially recognizing more than 161,150 startups nationwide. Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles, Shri Piyush Goyal, attributes this achievement to a concerted effort aimed at promoting innovation and fostering economic growth.
The recognition of over 161,150 startups coincides with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) credits this achievement to collaborative efforts that have nurtured a vibrant startup ecosystem filled with innovation and spirit. As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, this milestone reinforces the ongoing support for India’s entrepreneurs.
In his Independence Day speech on August 15, 2015, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi envisioned an entrepreneurial India that harnesses its demographic potential.
