Enhanced E-Invoice Portal Launch: New Features and Improvements for Taxpayers

Enhanced E-Invoicing Initiatives: Launch of the Updated E-Invoice Portal

The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) is excited to announce significant enhancements to its e-invoice portal at [https://einvoice.gst.gov.in]. In celebration of the first anniversary of the successful launch of five new IRP portals, the e-invoice master information portal, and the e-invoice QR Code Verifier app, we are unveiling a redesigned portal that aims to improve taxpayer services and increase accessibility.

New Features of the Enhanced E-Invoice Portal

The updated e-invoice master information portal introduces a range of user-friendly features:

  • PAN-Based Search: Users can now verify the e-invoice enablement status of entities using their Permanent Account Number (PAN), in addition to GSTIN searches.

  • Automatic E-Invoice Exemption List: A regularly updated list of GSTINs requesting e-invoice exemptions will be published at the beginning of each month, available for user download.

  • Global Search Bar: A new global search feature allows users to quickly access information throughout the portal.

  • Local Search Capabilities: Enhanced search functionalities within advisory, FAQ, and manual sections facilitate efficient access to information.

  • Revamped Advisory and FAQ Section: The advisory and FAQ sections are now organized by year and month, providing comprehensive guidance for users.

  • Daily IRN Count Statistics: Users can access daily statistics on the generation of Invoice Reference Numbers (IRNs) directly through the portal.

  • Mobile App Section: Information and support for the e-invoice QR Code Verifier app are conveniently available.

  • Improved Accessibility and User Experience: The portal adheres to the GIWG guidelines, now featuring adjustments for contrast, text resizing options, and screen reader compatibility.

  • Updated Website Policy: A thorough update of the website policy has been implemented, which includes archival, content management, and moderation policies, alongside web information manager details.

Recent Achievements in E-Invoicing

In the past year, over 1.6 crore e-invoices have been reported through the new IRP portals, illustrating the system's efficiency. Key advancements in the GSTN E-Invoicing System include:

  • Expansion of IRP Portals: GSTN now operates a total of six IRP portals through various partners, working alongside a centralized de-duplication system.

  • E-Invoicing Accessibility: All eligible taxpayers can report e-invoices across these six IRP portals through online means, APIs, or a mobile app, free of charge.

  • Hourly Auto-Population of GSTR-1: E-invoices reported via new IRPs are automatically populated in GSTR-1 on an hourly basis. Collaboration with NIC-IRP is ongoing to extend this feature for reports made on NIC-IRP 1 & 2.

  • E-Invoice Retrieval: Both buyers and sellers can access e-invoices from the past six months via the e-invoice portals and G2B APIs.

  • QR Code Verifier App: The e-invoice QR code verifier app allows users to verify e-invoices and perform IRN lookups online.
