Your Guide to the May 2025 CA Exams: What You Need to Know Before the Countdown Begins

If you're planning to appear for the upcoming Chartered Accountancy exams in May 2025, this is your one-stop checklist. Whether you're enrolled in the Foundation, Intermediate, or Final level, getting your application right the first time can save you a lot of stress later.

Are You Eligible?

Before starting the application, do a quick eligibility check:

• Course Registration: Ensure your registration for the relevant level is valid. If it has lapsed, complete the revalidation or conversion process through the SSP before applying.

• Final Level Candidates: Your articleship should be completed (including adjustment of excess leave, if any) before the deadline set by ICAI.

• Advanced ICITSS: For Final students, don't forget to complete the Advanced ICITSS (Information Technology and Soft Skills course) by April 10, 2025. Make sure it's updated in your Self Service Portal (SSP) profile.

How to Apply: Everything Runs Through the SSP

You can’t apply offline—ICAI has made the Self Service Portal (SSP) the only way to submit exam applications. Here's what you need:

• Recent passport-size photo and your signature, scanned and uploaded as per ICAI specifications.

• Active login credentials for the SSP—recover your password early if you've forgotten it.

• Updated registration status—especially if you’ve converted from an old scheme or revalidated your enrolment.

Key Dates You Must Not Miss

• May 2025 Exam Applications:

  • Open from March 1 to March 14, 2025 (without late fee)
  • Extended up to March 17, 2025, with late fee

• Correction Window:

  • ICAI allows a short period post-deadline to fix non-core errors (like center, medium, etc.).
  • Core details like your name, group selection, or course usually can’t be changed—so double-check before submitting!

• January 2025 Inter Applicants:

  • Form submission was between November 10–23, 2024
  • Corrections were permitted from November 27–29, 2024

Admit Card: Don’t Wait Till the Last Minute

• Admit cards for the May 2025 exams were released in late April 2025 on ICAI's eServices portal.

• You’ll need your SSP credentials to log in and download.

• After downloading, verify:

  • Your name and photo
  • Exam center and group
  • Roll number and medium

• Found an error? Contact ICAI support immediately—don’t wait until exam day.

• No printed admit card = no entry, so print at least two copies and carry one with a valid ID for every paper.

Exam Reschedules & Postponements

• Originally, the May 2025 Inter & Final exams were planned from May 2–14, 2025.

• Due to security concerns, exams between May 9–14 were postponed and rescheduled between May 16–24, 2025.

• No changes were made to Foundation exam dates.
