Please note that this internet banking option is applicable only to Authorized Banks. For banks not on this list, use the Payment Gateway or RTGS/NEFT methods.
Taxpayers with a debit card issued by an Authorized Bank that supports tax payments can also use this method, without incurring transaction fees.
Individuals and companies ineligible under Section 44AB, as per Notification 34/2008 by the CBDT, cannot utilize this payment option. However, other taxpayers may pay taxes at the counters of Authorized Banks.
To complete this payment:
This payment method is valid only at the branches of Authorized Banks. For transactions through other banks, please use the NEFT/RTGS option. A signed Challan Form with CRN, generated from the e-Filing portal, is required.
Tax payments can also be executed via RTGS through any bank that provides RTGS/NEFT services.
Note that online RTGS/NEFT transactions are free of charge according to RBI guidelines. For offline transactions, charges typically range from ₹24.50 to ₹49.50 + GST depending on the bank and the transaction amount.
This payment mode allows taxpayers to choose from multiple options such as Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, and UPI. After selection, you will be redirected to the payment gateway’s dedicated page showcasing available options. Please be informed that any applicable transaction charges will be added to the tax amount for this method.
By utilizing these various payment methods, taxpayers can streamline their tax payment processes effectively and efficiently.
